I Tried Painting

Last week, I reached my breaking point with cleaning. When self-isolation began last month, I took it upon myself to deep-clean and do some reorganization around the house. Back when I was going to work and things were “normal”, I often found myself putting these projects aside and never getting them done. In an attempt to be productive, I decided to tackle all things organization. Now that we have been staying at home for over a month, I am completely burnt out when it comes to cleaning/organization. I was dying for a different activity to do in my free time.

In my search for something else to do at home, I came across some old acrylic paints and blank canvases my mom had given me. I searched for a painting tutorial for beginners on YouTube and I decided to give it a try. I used to love art in school and hadn’t done any sort of art in years!

I followed this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHKtV9rsy8k

I thought it would be fun to share the different stages of my painting. I didn’t want to rush and ended up completing it in about a week.

I found painting to be extremely relaxing and fun (SO much better than cleaning lol). I really enjoyed following the tutorial and I may even try to paint something on my own next time. Has anyone picked up any fun new hobbies during this time??
