Weekend Recap #1

Happy Monday, all! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. Weekends are usually my time to relax and unwind after a busy work week. I try to plan at least one fun activity and then usually spend the rest of my time playing catch-up (doing laundry, paying bills, cleaning, running to the grocery store, etc.)

I had a particularly fun weekend as I attended the Houston Rodeo! For anyone that doesn’t know, the rodeo is a livestock show that displays cattle, sheep, pigs, etc. and exhibits numerous events such as bull riding and roping calves. There is also a carnival and a different concert every night! I have grown up going to the Rodeo, and it wouldn’t be spring without at least one Rodeo trip! I planned to go with my cousin and a friend from college. As a surprise, my cousin that lives in another city came down to join us. I was beyond excited to see her! It made the Rodeo that much more fun.

My favorite part is getting to see all of the farm animals. How cute are the chicks?! The chick that is cuddled up sleeping is definitely me! Haha! The Carnival always looks amazing at night! Seeing the rides all lit up is so  nostalgic for me.Let’s not forget about the food! The food sold at the Rodeo is to-die-for!! You can find everything from bbq to seafood to pizza! All kinds of local vendors come out and it is truly heaven on Earth. I wish I got a picture of my shrimp basket. My personal favorite foods available are the deserts. Funnel Cakes and fried Oreos? Yes, please!!

I also enjoyed a giant margarita. Over-priced, but worth it!Saying I enjoyed my time at the Rodeo this year would be an understatement. I LOVED it!

Saturday night I went out with some friends for St. Patrick’s Day. Unfortunately, I did not get any pictures. On Sunday, I made a quick trip to the mall and checked out Forver21. I spotted this cute polka-dot crop top. Thoughts??I spent the rest of the weekend doing boring adult stuff and watching some Netflix (anyone watch New Girl?!). Overall, it was a great weekend! I absolutely cannot complain. Let’s hope I can get through this Monday. Cheers to a great week!

  1. OMG the rodeo looks sooooo cool! I actually heard about it when I sent a form I needed filled out to a Houston hotel and he called with a question saying “I need to ask you this now because I won’t have time later due to the rodeo. I don’t want you calling me later asking for the form because I know I won’t have time for it.” Haha I thought it was a hilarious reason!

      1. I will be in Houston next month but I don’t think I’ll be there in time for the rodeo. I need to go to Houston for fun someday and go to the rodeo for sure! (Btw, if you want to try and meet up for a late dinner or something when I’m in Houston I’d love to meet you!)

      2. Let’s do it!!! I will let you know closer to the event when I have my schedule so we can plan something 🙂 I know I arrive April 15th and leave April 22nd but other than that I don’t know my exact hours yet!
